Loud Shirt Day

For Loud Shirt day we got to create our own loud shirt using different food colouring. We used one of our old white t-shirt, Mum helped Faith by using a string to divide her shirt into 6 diff end parts, then using one colour into each part.

My dad helped me to put the colours I wanted on my shirt, I also wanted mine different from my sister so I folded it in half and then folded it up again, tied the string to make four different part. My dad then put in the colour and then hung them to dry. We were both excited to put it on this morning.

This was extra special as we were also doing this for our big cousin Kaylee Wipani who is hearing impaired. I hope she likes what we’ve done for her.

Writing Test

Today our teacher wanted to test our writing. We talked about Earthquake and the importance of knowing what to do if it does happen, and we were asked to draw a picture and then to write about it.

I had to do a video and read it out just in case you don’t understand what I wrote.

Home Learning

For Maths, we did timetable problem solving and I worked out that drawing it down helps me to get the correct answer and makes easier for me to do.

For reading, we listened to Sebastian’s Roller Skating story and then answered the questions above. I would love to go roller skate and I have asked my mum and dad if we could. Hopefully we can when we move to level 2.

Creating my own bucket!!

I got to create my own bucket, with the help of my dad, I was able to successfully created two buckets. One small and one big.

Here‘s how I did it.

Tools needed

  • cardboard
  • pencil x2
  • ruler
  • craft knife
  • compass (because we didnt  have any compass we folded a piece of paper then measure it out with my ruler depending on how big you want your bucket)

How I used my home made compass

Make a mark on each end of the folded paper and poke a small hole through, then put through the pencil in each hole on your folded paper, bottom pencil is to hold your mark then start moving your top pencil to draw your semicircle. This will give you a perfect circle or semicircle.

Draw two semicircle, one small and one bigger, then draw a line across from one side to the other of the smaller semicircle. Use your ruler and draw a V line from your mark to each side of where your line end through to the bigger semicircle.

Cut them out, join each end of the semicircle together, glue smaller end to cardboard to create the bottom of bucket and then cut it out. cut out small Long piece and glue it on to form the handle.

We created a small bucket first and then we made a bigger one. I enjoyed making stuff with my family.

Once we finished creating the buckets, my sister Eva helped me to decorate it to make it look pretty.

Here is what it looks like.

Staying Active

Me, my sister and our cousin Lorrain all learnt two new things today. We learnt how to do a beep test which I liked at first and then it got harder but I did my best. My dad set up 15 metermcones, set up the speaker and then he explained the rules and then we started running. I stop running at level 8.2, my cousin did 7.8 and then my sister did 9.2. We were all sweating at the end.

After the beep test we had a water break.

After our break my dad taught us how to tackle and then we played a little fun tackling game at the end.

Finish it off properly

Me and my sister were so excited for our last day of term 3 that we attended our online team meet in our school uniform.

Mum and Dad wanted to make sure we finished the term off properly so we also did some writing.

Home learning: Day 32

Finding the words within the letters were so much fun that I asked my Dad to do 10 more different words for me to find.

Wacky Mask Day

My sister and I had to draw what we wanted our mask to look like.

My mum then help brought my drawing to life. I love bright colours and I think my mum did a great job with my mask. Thank you mum!
